Feathers & FansTribute to Marian

September 7, 2006 marked the passing of my mother Marian, who taught me how to knit and much, much more. In her loving memory, I am trying to knit and also re-start my quilting activities.
In the way of finished objects, since Mom's passing I have knit two baby afghans in the Fan & Feather pattern as a tribute. Mom loved to knit this particular pattern and she knit it over and over again, in both large and small afghans, and so, I knit a light blue baby afghan in her honor - which I have carefully tucked away in my grandbaby hope chest.

I also made a second one in a green color to gift a co-worker who is due with a little boy in February. It's done, so now I'm on to other knitted items.

Mom's legacy lives on in the cherished gifting of handknits and the love that one puts into knitting objects that you give to another.
