My First Socks - Monkey Socks

Take a look at this beautiful sock which is going to be a gift. The pattern is called Monkey Socks - they they are by far the most knit sock (pattern by Cookie A.) currently in blogland. I had vowed time and time again that I was never going to knit a sock. Well, guess what? I decided that I needed this kind of a challenge and I was up for it. Fancy, beautiful socks are really in vogue, if you check out catalogues like Anthropologie. I ordered Merino sock yarn on line and the color is actually Burgundy. The picture shows the sock as deep pink, but really it is Burgundy - trust me on this.

I love the V pattern with the tiny eyelet designs. No wonder this pattern is such a fav.

The heel and gusset went just fine, thank you. This little Monkey is taking a little nap on the Indigo Ripples skirt for it's debut photo.

I am taking careful notes, so that the second sock matches its mate. No second sock syndrome for me. Hope the recipient likes the progress. It is nicely soft Merino, a real treat.
