Here are some photos of the Hannukah quilt top which I paper pieced in December. Pretty festive, eh? This is just one reason that all my knitting projects got put aside.
Then came my yearly goal of organizing, which my work area sorely needed. DH and I happened upon Ikea and found awesome storage units. Now my yarn has a tiddy home and my quilt fabric stash is also being organized. 25 years of hoarding fabric is alot of fabric. I have spent several weekend hours every weekend this year ironing my wonderful quilt fabric stash. Thank goodness that yarn doesn't need ironing!

You can even see the yarn in this shot:

Okay, just one more picture of my tiddiness, because this is so unusual

Then came reality check of going back to work full time in January after my bunion surgery. I struggled to get some decent knitting time in.
What is that I hear? -- ta-dah, a drum roll ........ Introducing my lace Birch Shawl that I started in mid November. Yes, stick a fork in her - she's done!!!! It was a very nice feeling completing my first lace project (other than the Rebecca Cardi wrap) and no mistakes at all. No frogging at all. I didn't even use a lifeline, mainly because I didn't know about it and probably wouldn't have used one anyway. Here are the pictures from Saturday's bath in Lavender Eucalan and blocking on the bed.

Soaking in lavendar - I envy you Birch!

Blocking on the bed:

Here are my personal details on this popular shawl:
Birch
- Pattern: Rowan 34, designed by Sharon Miller
- Yarn: Douceur et Soir in blue - 3 balls 70% Baby Mohair, 30% Silk
- Needles: US 6 Boye straight needles
- Changes: none! (I made the Stockinette version)
- Finished Measurements: 70” x 37”
You'll have to wait until the next posting for some good photos of the shawl. We are expecting a little bit of sunlight tomorrow, and DH is in town. So chances are good that Birch will be showing up soon, in all her glory.
