As you will all agree, receiving presents is the best, rivaled only by maybe dark chocolate orgies. To my great delight, Joshua arrived for Thanksgiving bearing a gift. Yes, fellow knitters and yarn-aholics - a skein of authentic Rowan yarn from the best place to go in London for fiber-crazed junkies- Liberty of London! And low and behold, I loved his taste. He gifted me with Rowan Summer Tweed in Cape color - a medium blue, cotton/silk yarn with specks of pink and yellow. I particulary love to wear cotton and silk here in my climate - hot Southern California. You gotta admit that Chunky wool would be a crazy choice for me. Sorry, but 118 yards only goes so far. The thought here is what was touching and important. Thank you Joshua!!!!!
The next thing that I immediately reasoned with myself was that in all fairness, I had to do some stash enhancement, so that one Rowan Tweedie would not feel so alone in its new home. Thank goodness for the internet, Google and my rapid typing skills. I actually got a very good price on 9 more Rowan Tweed from English Yarns in West Sussex, considering the good exchange rate currently and that I did not have to pay for VAT. They gave excellent service. I was also very thankful that the British work on our Thanksgiving and processed my order immediately. I was not thwarted by a holiday - Yay!! I received the yarn on Monday and can now rest easy, knowing that all those tweedies can snuggle together in my stash, waiting to be knit.
Take a peek at what arrived.

Would you like to see a close-up. Yep, those are flowers from my rose bushes which are surprisingly still blooming. The pleasantly mild weather is allowing them to thrive at the moment. They had really sizzled during the summer and the blooms always seemed to be fried. It is so hot here is Chatsworth. The pleasant 60-70's degree weather that we're currently having is a real blessing.

So now before I can put my new Tweedies to rest I decided to purchase a pattern. I am thinking about the Oat Couture Bistro shirt pattern - a good choice for spring and summer wear.

I've got to end this yarn love-in for now and get back to some serious knitting time. Till then.

Gorgeous yarn...the pictures show it off well.
I'm so glad that Joshua's gift has a bunch of friends... I think that very simple style you chose will be a good match for such a heathered, beautifully textured yarn.
And the cake was still delicious as of yesterday!
