How do you spell amethyst??

I recently bought some beautiful hand-dyed yarn in the color - amythest, or amethyst, or any variety of spellings you can dream up. The color is subtle variations on lavender, and purples, like fields of lavender in Provence. My yarn is a lovely combination of merino wool, silk and sea cell, by Handmaiden and hand-dyed in Canada.

My plan was to knit a shawl in my down time after my surgery. Indeed, I started the shawl this past week, and the pattern is Ishbel - which seems to be very popular in the knitting sphere right now. Rightfully so, because it is very clearly written with both charts and written directions.

Lace knitting with charts is a great change from baby knitting. I might even go for knitting a second lace shawl, or not. Perhaps even finish the Icarus shawl that I started three years ago. I really got bogged down on that shawl because of the size US#3 needles. What was I thinking?? It is taking forever.

Anyway, here is the progress on Ishbel, or Amethyst Beauty.
