Daisy for Yael

Here is Yarn Harlot's Hoodless Daisy..........

A final sweater finished right before we leave............

I started this soft, sweet cardigan last Sunday night, and knit for it for 5 nights and finished it! Hurray! It is really a beautiful coral color. I love the blue accents - the right complementary touch.

The pattern is called "Daisy" by the Yarn Harlot, Stephanie Pearl McPhee . Go read her blog - she's so funny, and a great knitter too.

Specifications:
  • Pattern: Daisy
  • Size: 6-12 month size
  • Yarn: Country by Naturally Caron -75% acrylic, 25% merino wool - washable - 12 ply cable yarn - a little less than 2 skeins
  • Color : Lipstick
  • Needles: US#8 - circular and DPNs
  • Gauge: 5.25 stitches, 7 rows =1 inch
  • Modifications: Knit without seams, bottom up. Knit the sleeves together with the body, instead of seaming separately. A little tricky and had to use the DPNs because the sleeeve circumference was so small, the circular needles could not accomodate the small diameter.
  • Added 5/8 inch Grosgrain ribbon to stabilize the seed border in the front. Also added a snap at the neckline - perhaps add a fourth button next time.
All in all, I love the sweater.
I hope it fits Yael now, so she can wear it in the chilly Israel weather :)
Into the suitcase she goes.

Ok - it's a fact. Yael absolutely loves this sweater. One of the things that makes it so great is that the arms are wide, so it's easy to put over long-sleeved shirts... Wonderful sweater! On her behalf, thank you!
