Beautiful Booties & Socks

It's been a whole month since my last blog entry. Anyway, I've been knitting on some cute items. I've been taken with sock knitting, and wanted to see what a baby sock would look like. Pretty nice, I think. I used the Lion Brand Cashmere on DPN needles. I already forgot the needle size. I used a tiny bit more than one ball. The size came out bigger than I was hoping for. Anyway, it looks like it would fit a 9 month to one year foot. Very soft yarn, which is starting to pill a bit. Oh well, it is very soft. The pattern is the "class sock" from Charlene Schurch's book, Sensational Knitted Socks. I love the Kitchener Grafting to close the sock toe - it is really fun, believe it or not.

On to a smaller newborn size footsie. I used smaller size yarn - a DK weight that I had bought online. It is a sock yarn - a superwash DK weight, called Mama Llama in Pink Lady. Used size 5 DPNs and cast on of 30 stitches. Each bootie takes about two hours or so. Very, very soft and loveable yarn. I love this pattern - from Fiber Trends, called Baby Basics , Lace Cuff Booties by Evelyn A. Clark.

On to the next project.
