Introducing Me and My Peacock Sweater

Welcome to my knitting blog! This is my first post ever. I am now a blogger instead of a blog reader! I love how soft my sweater turned out and I especially love the buttons I found at La Knitterie Parisienne. Handmade glass buttons. Perfect. Very expensive, but makes my sweater gorgeous. Cost is no object when it makes you happy!!

Now I'm on to many other projects, like the new holiday cardigan from the 2005 Holiday Vogue Magazine. I found a great Jaeger yarn in Mohair. I was looking for a burgundy color yarn, but they had a variegated blue-green yarn. Of course it was on sale, so I bought it. Now I will have two sweaters that I can call my Peacock Sweater! Anyway, I'm going to call this Vogue sweater in progress, my Lacy Daisy Sweater.

Take a look at what she's going to look like:

What, another project!!! Here's another project that I've just started. Yes, it is the Birch Shawl from Rowan Magazine # 34 that everyone has knit. I had a bit of knitter envy so I just had to knit one for myself. What color to knit? Well, my LYS had a baby blue Douceur et Soie - so that's my she shall be.

This is my first shawl that I've ever knit, but why not? I've never done "lace" patterns before, except for the fans & feathers baby blankets that I have knit. I guess that counts as lace. Anyways, here she is. The pattern is fun, once you get past the 299 stitch cast on. I am using US #6 straight needles. I like how the smaller needles show off the pattern better than the US #8 that the patterns calls for.
Can't wait to show you my progess on this shawl.

My final project that I am currently working on is with Rowan Calmer!!!!!!!! Yes, I could not resist the temptation that is being posted about this great cotton yarn. I had to try it. And I am a convert just like the rest. It is so soft and nice to work with. I am knitting the Rebecca Cardigan. I seem to be knitting projects that everyone has already knitted. I'm a "Johnny Come Lately", but mine is being knit in the "Lucky" color. Want to see?

Check out the Jimmy Beans Wool Website. Lots of great colors.

I'll show you my progress later.

We are still in the middle of the Thanksgiving Holiday Feast-out. The family is now is the third day of this feasting and Nana, Grandpa, Tom, Linda and Brianna are coming over really soon.

So I will close this first Thanksgiving posting with a wish for a happy, healthy and joyful wish for you all.
